January 2012...
We have had several cleints in with thier babies. What a joy to see them doing so well!
September 2011...
At the OB office, our client and her boyfriend were being asked the normal questions about health insurance and finances. When they shared that their finances were tight, the woman at the front desk made a statement that took this client and her boy friend by surprise. She said to them: “Are you sure you should go ahead and have this baby?”
This couple had already decided to carry their baby and parent. They have their own apartment and they both have full time jobs. They are responsible with their bills and have already discussed a plan to save while she was on maternity leave. This comment left them angry, confused and in shock.
They were upset when they came back to Care Net to share with us what they had experienced and quite frankly could not believe what they had heard. We encouraged them to share how this made them feel at their next OB appointment and we shared how proud we are of them for sticking up for themselves.
Imagine what might have happened if we were not here in their time of need...
August 2011...
Just last week a former client returned saying,” I know from the past that I have always had a positive experience here. I believe that everyone here genuinely cares about their clients and the services they provide.”
July 2011...
...the “freedom to choose” to terminate a pregnancy comes with a heavy toll: the loss of life and emotional scars. Some of the comments we hear from clients include; “No one told me how much it would hurt.” “I can’t stop thinking about it.” “I’m emotionally numb—I feel empty.”
As these women work through the Forgiven and Set Free Bible study, they open up about the conflicting emotions they went through at the time of their abortion, sharing their pain, and eventually find healing in Christ.
June 2011...
I am praising God for the opportunity I had recently to share the purity message with high school students. Over 200 students heard that they can choose to say “no” to sex and enjoy their teen years without the baggage of sexual activity.
One of our teen moms came with me. Her story, although heartbreaking, is filled with hope for the students. By sharing her challenges, she encouraged the teens to keep good friends and follow their dreams.
February 2011... Imagine our surprise when a client walked in asking if Lauriette still worked here. Come to find out, she was a client that Lauriette worked with years ago and we lost contact when she had moved out of the area.
It was joyous reunion. What happened next made it perfect; she asked Jesus to be her Savior! Praise God!!! The seeds that Lauriette planted years ago were ready for harvest.
January 2011...There is something exciting about starting a new year. It’s like a clean slate where you can make a fresh start.
The client that came in today is doing just that. She has decided to work on building healthier relationships this year and is enrolling in the local MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) program. Although these two things won’t “fix” all of her problems, they will make a positive difference in her life and in the lives of her children. It may even strengthen her faith
We see hundreds of clients each year, usually when they come in for a free pregnancy test. Each one is unique and has a story to tell. We've captured a couple of stories to share with you and we will be adding and changing what is posted in the future so be sure to come back!
